AEN can provide all or any of the steps listed below.

“Oversight Consultant” for the removal of Underground Storage Tanks, that “Failed Tank-Tightness Test”.
Disposal/Disposition of "contaminated soil" in tank-bed.

1. Verify test results with tank tester, “(that tank has failed “Tank-Tightness Test)”.

2. Verify soil sample test results with laboratory (if tested) and soil contamination levels.

3. Confirm with contractor removal date of “failed tank” and “lines” if included.

4. Be-On-Site for removal of failed UST & Lines and disposition of contaminated soil.

5. Confirm ID of tank to be removed.

6. Confirm safety precautions in place.

7. Confirm tank is empty, tank lines are purged, and lines disconnected.

8. Confirm tank is cut open and cleaned before removing from tank bed.

9. Confirm tank is pulled from ground and examined for leak/hole/deterioration.

10. Confirm evidence of leak, (or, no leak)

11. Confirm tank is “cut-into-pieces”, “on-site”, and removed from the site. 

Disposition of Failed Tank - Soil Samples - Disposition of Contaminated Soil

11. Confirm soil samples are taken from tank-bed after tank is removed from tank-bed.

12. Confirm “(?)-ft layer” of soil removed from tank-bed and additional soil samples taken.

13. Confirm soil samples from tank-bed sent to lab for testing under “Chain-of-Custody”.

14. Confirm that “(?)-ft layer” of soil sent to disposal facility under “Chain-of-Custody”.

15. Confirm contaminated soil received by disposal facility.

16. Confirm tank-site is secured for safety until soil sample test results are returned.

17. Confirm soil sample test results with laboratory.

18. If test results positive confirm with contractor removal of more soil from tank-bed. 

19. If test results negative confirm closing of tank-bed.

20. Repeat steps #12 to #19 until all contaminated soil is removed and tank-bed closed.
